Taxonomies & Tagging

In this section, you will find pages about taxonomies or ways of classifying things (texts, pictures, videos, animals, plants etc.). Tagging is simply assigning descriptive words to things without thinking about any classification system. It has its uses, mainly that it’s quick and requires little thought. If lots of taggers use the same words, then they are creating what has become known as a ‘folksonomy’.
